Day 1: Renaissance and Baroque in Rome

Afternoon: Pantheon and Piazza Navona

  • After lunch, head to the Pantheon to admire the ancient temple transformed into a church. Nearby, you'll be dazzled by the Trevi Fountain.
  • End your day with a stroll to Piazza Navona, one of Rome's most famous squares, where you can sit at a cafe terrace and admire Bernini's fountains.

Evening in Piazza Navona:

  • Enjoy an evening in the elegant district surrounding Piazza Navona, where cafe terraces invite you to savor local specialties while admiring the bustle of the piazza.

Day 2: Ancient Rome and History

Morning: Colosseum

  • Start your day early with a visit to the Colosseum. Arriving early can help you avoid the biggest crowds.
  • Book your ticket in advance here to save time and avoid long lines. Some combined tickets give you access to multiple sites.

Afternoon: Roman Forum and Palatine Hill

  • After a lunch break, head to the Roman Forum, where you can wander among the ruins that whisper the stories of ancient Rome. Book here
  • Then ascend to Palatine Hill for breathtaking views of the city and an immersion in Roman mythology and history.

Evening in Monti District:

Day 3: Pompeii

  • Upon your return to Rome, the Testaccio district is perfect for an authentic evening, known for its traditional Roman cuisine and lively nightlife.

Day 4: Vatican

Morning: St. Peter's Basilica

  • St. Peter's Basilica and its magnificent dome deserve a visit. Book a guided tour for a complete experience here

Evening in Prati:

  • For the evening, the Prati district, near the Vatican, is ideal with its many restaurants and bars for a sophisticated after-dinner experience.

Day 5: Tivoli

Day in Tivoli: Villa d'Este and Villa Adriana

  • Enjoy a day in Tivoli to visit Villa d'Este in the morning, famous for its gorgeous gardens and fountains.

Evening in Testaccio:

  • Returning to Rome, the Testaccio neighborhood is perfect for an authentic evening, known for its traditional Roman cuisine and lively nightlife.

Trevi Fountain

  • Integrate the Trevi Fountain into your visit whenever you feel like it, ideally early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid the crowds. Throw a coin over your shoulder to ensure a return to Rome!

Tips:

  • Rome is a city that can also be discovered spontaneously. Between planned visits, give yourself time to get lost in its streets and savor the dolce vita.
  • Sun protection and hydration: Pompeii is very exposed and can be very hot in summer. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water.
